A Tribute to Linda Kerr

7th Nov 2018

Linda started working in the primary department of Dunfane School in 2005 . When Castle Tower School opened in 2007 she continued in the Dunfane site primary department for many years. Later she transferred to the secondary department and worked with year 8 and 9 form classes where she nurtured the pupils and teachers in the rooms.

Linda was very talented, at one time she ran a computer class for staff, both classroom assistants and teacher alike in the art of banner making! Due to Linda’s artistic nature she was quickly seconded by the Art department where she helped many pupils achieve their full potential in this area. Linda’s wall displays were the talk of the school and loved by the children.

Linda went on sick leave in March 2011 and then returned to work full of bounce and eager to get started.  However, she fell ill again in November 2016. We were eagerly anticipating her return to school in September 2018 where she would be working with one of her previous year 9 groups who are now in post 16. Sadly, this was not to be and Linda passed away just after midnight on Monday 5th November 2018. Linda will be sorely missed by her many friends and colleagues and of course by the pupils whose lives she brightened by her presence.
